Indigenous Methodologies (Graduate students only)

Geography 576 / American Indian Studies 576 | Winter 2022
Tuesdays, 11:30am - 2:20pm

GEOG576 this year will be on Indigenous Methodologies. (I plan to offer a different themed seminar next year. I hope that this will be a microseminar on Immigration and Abolition, tied to the visit and Katz Lecture of Dr. Kelly Lytle Hernandez.)

Students interested in taking Indigenous Methodologies this winter are invited to apply at: https://forms.gle/CA6qJ1RmY7Qastq29. Priority will be given to students who are collaborating with Indigenous peoples in their research and seek to complete the Graduate Certificate in American Indian & Indigenous Studies.
~ As of November 5, both sections of the seminar and the waitlist are full. ~

This seminar is a work in progress, one that changes according to student interests and opportunities for collaboration. Specifically:
  • Winter 2022 will be a co-facilitated seminar with Jean Dennison on Indigenous Methodologies
  • In future years, I look forward to rethinking the work of the seminar in conversation with my amazing new colleagues, Carrie Freshour & Kessie Alexandre.
